THE SEA

I want to be alone with the sea,
i want to be alone with the beach,
I want to let my soul sail a bit,
not my body and my mind.

I just want to dream a little
around the things that I feel
and the sea, I am sure,
that she knows what I mean.

I want to be alone with the waves
I want to be alone with the sky,
I want to listen to my breath,
I want to listen to my sigh.

I want to listen to my silence,
then I will continue
and the sea, I am sure,
will understand my silence.

Toon Hermans' poem ‘The Sea’ reads like a train, but  the content can be written for practically anyone.

Written so simply, but it says so much, so aptly. It encourages thinking and dreaming.

With these works Wilfrieda tries to create a dreamy world in which the viewer of the art can wander, relax and lose his hustle.

In this way it is nice to always 'read' the poem and the painting again and again and to feel, relive the wisdom that is intertwined in it.

It is pleasant to know that by working with Toon's beautiful poem as a source of  inspiration, people can evoke a feeling they normally experience when being at the seaside: they are free and can allow a certain amount of carefreeness within.
